what we do
We work across all stages of venture growth, whether you’ve got a spark of an idea or you’re scaling up an already functional operation.

For all the projects we’re engaged in, we like to get involved as early as possible, helping you on each of your key steps, whether that’s building solid plans, getting the right people on board or accessing the investment to make things happen.

Building
solid plans
As the old adage goes - fail to plan, plan to fail, it applies to big business but it applies to early stage ideas too. We don’t create complication, but we do support you to think through what you’re doing and the order in which you’re doing it. That way we can help you maximise your chances of success, preventing you from hitting the potholes and missing any wider opportunities.

Getting the right people on board
Without the right people our businesses are nothing, and we know that starting off with the best talent is fundamental when an entrepreneur is getting things off the ground. We have a wide network of amazing people, who know other amazing people, who work with, recruit and connect to many more superstars for your business.

Accessing the investment
At Social Business Builders we have strong links with an exceptional diverse range of social investors; people and organisations who want to back socially impactful ideas and help grow them. We can help you find the right investors for you, to style and shape your pitch and stand by you and your team throughout your investment journey.

When you’re working alongside a Social Business Builder we’re committed to helping you grow as an individual. So, you’ll be invited to join Social Club where you’ll meet a fresh new group of peers - people who are going through (or maybe have already been through) similar opportunities and challenges.
How do we work?
We have a core set of principles that guide how we work, and we ask look for ventures that think and work in a similar way.

We don’t limit ourselves
We’re agnostic about organisational form - we welcome for-profits, nonprofits, and government agencies as venture partners.
We think big
We and the entrepreneurs we work with are ambitious about social impact and want help to scale and sustain it
We tick both boxes
We believe that social impact and commercial success must go hand-in-hand in the business model (not pulling in separate directions).
We need the evidence
We want social impact to be measured and verified alongside all other measures of success.
What do our services cost?
That’s something we can discuss when we meet, we have lots of options we from simple advisory fees, to taking shares in your venture or sharing some profit from revenue. In most cases we decide on a combination of these payment terms, demonstrating that we take a vested interest in helping you succeed.
